Since its launch, the service has become a helpful assistant for those who want to get an impression of a place before traveling. But here's the question: can you always trust these reviews?

TripAdvisor is focused on travel, Yelp and Google Maps - on local establishments, and Booking.com specializes in booking accommodation. 

What makes TripAdvisor different? The depth of the content! Here you can find not only reviews, but also real photos, and sometimes heated discussions on forums. Imagine: you are reading a detailed description from a person who has already been to the very restaurant or hotel you are going to. But competitors are not asleep either. Google Maps, for example, updates information at lightning speed — current opening hours, schedule changes, and new reviews are always at hand. But Booking.com pleases us by publishing only verified reviews. This means that fake comments are almost never found there.

Of course, TripAdvisor's competitors are not standing still. They are implementing more understandable and honest algorithms to win the trust of users. Therefore, TripAdvisor has to fight for its reputation and leadership.
